WHP/CBS21 is looking for a Senior Director for our Newscast.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing news production specifically managing directors/editors/floor crew
- Establishing production goals and setting standards for 28+ hours of local news weekly
- Review/Direct daily newscasts to ensure quality control, brand compliance, and subsequently provide feedback to all news staff
- Recruiting, hiring for production staff effectively
- Familiar with iNews computer system, AVID Newscutter system and new production technology to help achieve the best quality
- Collaborate with other managers on news strategies and effectively reach said goals
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Must have solid directing skills to provide clear/confident call of news programming.
- Will bring strong fiscal experience for both operational and capital expenditures
- Must have a demonstrated ability to manage multiple hours of daily newscasts and must have a proven track record of success in building a winning news organization
- Journalism degree and a minimum of 2 years experience in news management with noted leadership skills is required
